I have been working for Philip Morris, USA most of my life.  I am completing 32 years service in February 2005.  I have been married to the former Glenda Dawn Kidd of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina since July 12, 1976 and we have one daughter Michelle Evette Meadows (1/3/78).  I was formerly married to Ruth Elaine Runyon, ASI Class of 67 and we had a son Thomas Edward Meadows, Jr. (1/18/69)  Glenda has been in the small loan business for over 40 years and will retire soon.  Tom Jr. is from the Monacan High Class of 87 and is currently attending night classes at VCU to earn his degree in Business Administration. I am so proud of him for going back and doing what I should have done.   Michelle is from the Monacan High Class of 96 and Virginia Tech Class of 2001.  Michelle was the honor graduate of her college class graduating Summa Cum Laude.  She was an outstanding high school and college softball player.  She was recently selected to play for the Salem Virginia All-Stars as they took on the United States Olympic Softball team on June 18, 2004.  She is the first three time national Academic All-American in Virginia Tech history. Michelle has since completed her Masters degree at Virginia Commonwealth University and is now an Associate Athletic Director and  Senior Women's Administrator at Longwood University in Farmville, Va.  Update:  Michelle was inducted into the Virginia Tech Hall of Fame on October 22, 2010.

Both Tom and Michelle were inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society on April 27, 2004 at Virginia Commonwealth University.

After spending four years in the Army from 1967-71, I returned to work at Philip Morris, USA.  I am currently Manager of Maury Street Leaf Storages.  My hobbies are coaching softball, coin collecting, cap collecting, fishing and deer hunting.  I am an avid layman, part time missionary and minister for the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Lord called me to start a ministry on the job that is spreading, called Hands Up Ministry.  You can check out our Website at www.handsupministry.com   I love serving wherever the Lord leads me.  I have experienced and learned very much in my life but experiencing the love of Jesus and learning of Him is the most important thing that I have to share with you.  With Jesus, we will have an Alumni meeting in heaven where many of our school friends and lifetime friends have gone.

Recent Update

I was ordained into the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ on June 20, 2004.  I was ordained with the Christian name of Thomas "Jeremiah".    I also am the the founder (2000) and leader of a Christian Ministry at Philip Morris, USA in Richmond, Virginia called Hands Up Ministry.  You may contact me via email at the following addresses.
